Common Plurilingual Activities -
At a Glance

One key principle of plurilingual pedagogies is to always teach a language in relation to other languages, rather than teaching it in an isolated way. Since plurilingual speakers/learners are already making links between the target language and other languages they know (whether implicitly or explicitly), it is important for teachers to tap into their rich linguistic and cultural repertoire for more effective learning. This holistic way of learning a target language can help build greater metalinguistic and meta-cultural awareness as well as promote transfer of language skills and learning strategies that students are implicitly or explicitly using.
